Incorporated on October 1, 2009, the South Central High-Speed Rail and Transportation Authority, Inc (the “Authority”) is a local government corporation created under Texas Transportation Code by nine cities and counties and one rail district to develop high-speed intercity passenger rail in the State of Texas. The Authority represents the organizational and legal framework necessary to make high-speed intercity passenger rail a reality in Texas.
