WHAT IS THSRTC?

THSRTC is a not-for-profit Texas corporation dedicated to bringing specific regions of the state together in a grassroots, collective effort to improve transportation and create a network of high-speed rail service in Texas that can connect to states and countries beyond.

Since its inception in 2002, the corporation's goal and approach has been to connect the major highly populated metropolitan centers, Dallas-Fort Worth, Killen-Fort Hood, Waco/Baylor University, Bryan-College Station/Texas A&M, San Antonio, Austin, Laredo, and beyond the border.

Our members share an intense interest in the future of transportation. THSRTC is supported by a Congressional and Legislative Caucus and together they proactively pursue the best interest of the state of Texas and the people who live here.

WHO ARE WE?

THSRTC leadership and membership is composed of forward-thinking leaders in transportation, comprised of membership from multiple cities and counties with their elected officials as their representatives.  These leaders understand the need for alternative modes of transportation that augment the current modes and improve mobility across Texas. They know this increases economic potential as well as mobility throughout the state.

HOW HIGH SPEED RAIL COULD DRAMATICALLY IMPROVE TRAVEL IN THE US

The US's railroad network is made up of around 140,000 miles of track, but many of our trains are slow and outdated. Over the last couple of decades, countries like China, Japan, the UK, and France have made large investments in high-speed rail, and some groups in the US are urging that we do the same.
